Zainul Abedin:

Zainul Abedin was a famous Bangladeshi painter. He was born in Kishoreganj on December 29, 1914. His house is beside the banks of the Brahmaputra river. He was getting the government Gold Medal in an all-India exhibition in 1938 for his works framed Brahmaputra and a series of watercolors.

Zainul Abedin completed his education from the Calcutta Government Art School in Calcutta and he was admitted here in 1933. He was the first Muslim student who got first class from the school. He completed his few art training from different places like London, Pakistan. He was married to Jahanara Abedin.

He is famous for his painting and has a lot of famous work like The Struggle, Rebel cow, Famine paintings, Nobanno, Study of a Crow, Two faces, etc. After the liberation war in 1974, he received an Honorary Doctor of Letters degree from the University of Delhi, India.

Zainul Abedin was attracted by lung cancer and died on May 28, 1976 in Dhaka and he was buried beside the Dhaka University Central Mosque.
