Moniruzzaman Min: while he was a student of Rajshahi University, he fell in love with Hindu girl who was his fellow classmate. Once, the decided that they would get married fleeing away from home. Their plan was like that they would reach the varsity rail station in a certain day at a particular time but separately. Then, they'll flee via traveling train. According to the planning, the girl arrived at the rail station quite earlier! but, he was little late to reach the station due to the path, he came. In the meantime, the train arrived at the station. The lover girl thought that Monirizzaman cheated with her.
Then, it happened that tragedy story! Misunderstanding the lover boy,
the girl killed herself under the running train. Moniruzzaman saw a huge
public gathering while he reached the station running. He saw that
everything was already gone. He saw the dead body of his lover girl.
This incident had a long term effect on him. He didn't get married in
his lifetime. His lover girl loved cats too much. That's why he started
bringing up pet cats to recall the memories of his the then girlfriend.
When he became the VC of Dhaka University, then in his residence there
were lots of cats too. Those cats were his symbol of love, the memory of
his dead girlfriend.
The Ex-VC of The University of Dhaka died at 11:45 am yesterday in Square Hospital.
